John received his Bachelor of Science, Construction Management from Oklahoma State University in 1983. That same year John became a full time employee of Hemphill Corporation. John began focusing on tower site development in the mid 1980’s and has been involved in the development of thousands of tower sites.

In 1997, John became President of Hemphill Corporation and in 2012 became the owner of Hemphill, LLC (Hemphill Corporation’s successor). Today, John is responsible for Hemphill’s real estate holdings and related business entities.
