founded in 1957
Elmer L. Hemphill founded his first Hemphill company in 1957 as a small drilling operation based in Tulsa, OK. Hemphill is rich with its legacy of hard work and innovation, born over sixty years ago. Hemphill has always upheld the highest standards of work with quality and honesty in service. Innovative approaches to complicated problems have sustained Hemphill and allowed us to complete projects others simply could not. Today Hemphill, LLC is proud to continue building this legacy of innovation.
strong history
Drilling, geotechnical engineering and materials testing were Hemphill’s primary businesses for nearly twenty-five years. During the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s Hemphill was involved in thousands of projects throughout the United States. Local projects during the first twenty-five years included Skelly Stadium expansion, International Petroleum Exposition, Williams Tower and Tulsa International Airport expansions.
there from the start
When the wireless telecommunications revolution began in the 1980’s, Hemphill was there from the beginning. Our experience in drilling, geotechnical engineering and foundation construction earned us the privilege of building foundations for US Cellular’s first cell towers. Soon Hemphill began building tower sites for wireless carriers nationwide. In the mid 90’s Hemphill created its tower manufacturing division and became the only tower site design-build company with tower manufacturing capabilities.
rapid growth
In 1990, Hemphill began acquiring industrial facilities, renovating and upgrading them with heavy capacity crane-ways. At present, our facilities include 450,000 square feet of medium to heavy industrial space located near Pine and Harvard. Hemphill has operated manufacturing divisions, from these facilities, for overhead bridge cranes, structural steel, towers and air-cooled heat exchangers.
from then to now
Today, Hemphill develops, owns and leases tower sites to the wireless industry. Our vast experience affords Hemphill the ability to offer unmatched service and turnaround when it comes to building tower sites. We are continually adding to and updating our properties to facilitate more industrial applications. At present we are looking into the future and seeking to continue our growth. With a strong legacy and an innovative spirit Hemphill has thrived for six decades. Hemphill plans to continue its legacy of innovation in the 21st century.
